HFW Participates in the First Workshop of the Civil Society Capacity Building Initiative, organized by UNDP

From October 26 to October 29, Hope for Women participated in the first of a series of workshops organized by UNDP under their Civil Society Capacity Building Initiative.

This comprehensive one-year capacity development program for Maldivian civil society organizations was launched on the 26th of October by the Integrated Governance Program (IGP) of UNDP, with support from the US Department of State, with the aim of enhancing the organizational capacity of these organizations and to enhance their contributions in promoting development.

This first workshop, focusing on Leadership Development, was held from October 26 to October 29, and is the first phase of this one-year long program. Two more workshops will be held during the upcoming year. Besides the workshops, the programme will also provide participants with opportunities for monthly networking, peer-to-peer learning sessions, and one-to-one coaching and mentoring support. Along with Hope for Women, fourteen other civil society organizations from Male’, Lhaviyani Atoll, and Laamu Atoll a participating in this program.

In the second phase of the program, organizations that have been identified as committed to the process will be continued to be supported for the remaining six months in the implementation of their learning, through seed funding and technical support.
